About CH Spurgeon
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) has become affectionately known as the Prince of Preachers, and over 130 years after his death he continues to minister to believers and call unbelievers to repentance and faith.
In picturing the day of his own funeral 20 years prior to his death, Spurgeon said to his congregation:
…when you see my coffin carried to the silent grave, I should like every one of you, whether converted or not, to be constrained to say, “He did earnestly urge us, in plain and simple language, not to put off the consideration of eternal things. He did entreat us to look to Christ.”
We can be grateful to God that Spurgeon’s ministry continues to urge us to look to Christ. To learn more about his life and ministry, be sure to check out these recommended books and these documentaries. To learn more from Spurgeon, explore his sermons and the many books he wrote.

About the Sermon Audio
Unfortunately, there are no recordings of CH Spurgeon preaching. The sermon audio featured at CHSpurgeon.com was created by Tod Magstadt, who began recording and distributing Spurgeon’s sermons in 1989. He went on to record more than 350 historical sermons for the benefit of this and future generations of believers. His efforts were a beautiful reflection of trusting in the Lord and acknowledging Him in all ways, as these sermons continue to lead and inspire believers in their faith.
Tod’s legacy, deeply rooted in his trust in God, lives on as a testimony to the power of leaning not on our own understanding but on the divine guidance of our Lord. He was called home on April 9th, 2023, leaving a path illuminated by his faith and dedication to God’s word.
